BORDERLINE, an Art Exhibition regrouping Thirty contemporary artists from the Indian Ocean

12 to 27 April 2019: BORDERLINE, an Art Exhibition regrouping Thirty contemporary artists from the Indian Ocean and the region at The Granary Building, Port Louis Waterfront by Landscope Mauritius.

«Borderline[s]» revient. Le Grenier, transformé de nouveau en musée éphémère, accueillera pas loin d’une centaine d’œuvres d’art contemporain de trente artistes de différents pays et de Maurice. Elles seront visibles dès demain et ce jusqu’au 27 avril.

Qui sont les artistes ? On retrouvera pour Maurice : Audrey Albert, Nirveda Alleck (actuellement en résidence à Paris), Simon Back, Maïti Chagny, Salim Currimjee, Avilla Damar, Stephanie Desvaux, Djuneid Dulloo, Armand Gachet, Jurgen Eric aussi dit Gun, Sultana Haukim, Krishna Luchoomun, Elizabeth de Marcy Chelin, Nishal Purbhoo, Julian Ratinon, Christophe Rey, Alexandre Sanchini, Kavinash Thomoo, Salman Toorawa et Kim Yip Tong.

Les artistes internationaux : Smitha Cariappa (Inde), Jacques Charoux (Australie), Haji Mussa Chilong (Tanzanie), Mathilde Fossy, KMVH et Leila Payet de La Réunion, Peterson Kamwathi (Kenya), Pierrot Men (Madagascar), Rose Mudge et Sitaara Stodel d’Afrique du Sud.

Ils ont été sélectionnés après un appel à projet. Le jury comprenait Julie Crenn, critique d’art et commissaire d’exposition indépendante, l’artiste mauricien Nirmal Hurry et chargé de cours au Mahatma Gandhi Institute, Bernard Leveneur, qui est directeur du Musée Léon Dierx à La Réunion et des deux fondatrices de la plateforme Third Dot, Laetitia Lor et Alicia Maurel.

L’exposition est gratuite. Elle bénéficie du soutien de mécènes, soit le groupe IBL, la Mauritius Commercial Bank et le groupe BMW.
BORDERLINE[S]. Grenier de Port-Louis, du 12 au 27 avril – de 10h à 17h en semaine, et jusqu’à 15h le week-end.
